We are a family here in Los Alamitos Unified, and part of caring for one another means ensuring our students and families have access to healthy, nutritious meals each day.

The ongoing government shutdown may temporarily affect some federally funded food assistance programs, including CalFresh (California’s version of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP). We also understand that some of our local military families may be impacted during this time.

Please know that this situation does not affect free or reduced-price school meals. All Los Alamitos Unified schools will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for every student daily, ensuring that every child has access to healthy meals at school.

For families who may experience a temporary gap in benefits or need additional support, several trusted community organizations throughout Orange County are ready to help:

If your family is experiencing a gap in benefits or needs additional assistance, please know that help is available through the trusted organizations listed above. We care deeply about our families and are here to help connect those in need with available community resources. If you need help connecting to one of these resources, you may also reach out to your school office for assistance.

Thank you for being part of a caring and connected Los Alamitos Unified community.
